Become a Water Quality Sampling Volunteer!

Sign Up to Be a Water Sampling Volunteer

To sign up to be a sampling volunteer, please contact the Committee and state whether you prefer to sample freshwater ponds or marine estuaries or if you are willing to be assigned within the Town of Orleans sampling areas where most needed.

We check this email periodically and someone will get back to you with further information.  Thank you for volunteering!  Monitoring and ongoing efforts to improve our water quality for public health, ecology and recreational opportunities would not be possible without you.

Training for Sampling Volunteers

Returning water quality volunteers may use the online virtual training session conducted by Dr. Bob Duncanson. Click here to access the one-hour training video.

Once you have watched the training video, please download and sign this Self-Certification Form and email it to your volunteer coordinator so that they can verify that you have received training.

First time volunteers are encouraged to attend an in person training which is conducted each spring for both freshwater pond and estuary samplers prior to the beginning of each sampling season. Details on spring training opportunities will be provided to all volunteers who send an email to the address provided above.
