The Orleans Building Department is upgrading its in-house and online permitting platform during the month of March.
To make the changeover, online permitting will NOT BE AVAILABLE beginning March 8th at 1:00pm until 8:30am on March 25th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
In addition, all users will have to register for the new platform after the upgrade.
It should only take you 3 to 5 minutes to complete the new registration process, and no PIN number will be required – just be sure to have your current license and insurance information at hand before you begin the process. Once newly registered, you will be able to apply for Plumbing, Gas, Express Building and Full Building Permits. The system will remember your registration information and fill it in for you each time you start a new application. We are working on bringing Wiring permits online by this summer.
The new platform has some important new features, including:
NOTIFICATIONS Messages will go out automatically via email each time an action takes place regarding your permit, such as application approval, completed inspections, failed inspections, and permit closures.
DRAFTS Applications you are working on can be saved for up to 90 days.
HISTORY An up-to-date list of all your permit projects and linked permits will be available to you in summary form.
