Open Burning permits are now available for the season running January 15 through May 1.
All permits must be obtained through the new online permitting system. Paper permits are no longer issued. Please see our user guide for step-by-step instructions.
Important information to know:
- Burning hours are from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM only
- The decision to allow burning is evaluated daily by the Fire Department by 10:00 AM
- Permits may be obtained anytime, but burning is only allowed on approved burn days
- Residents must check the system on the day they plan to burn
- A login is required to use the new system
- After applying, users will receive a confirmation email with their permit (be sure to check your junk or spam folder)
- Your 2026 permit is valid for the entire open burning season
- As spring approaches, burn days become less frequent due to weather conditions such as wind and reduced rainfall
Burning without a valid permit or on a non-approved day is not allowed.
