Mission Statement
The mission of the Orleans Health Department is to promote and protect public and environmental health in the Town of Orleans, and continuously work towards improving health and well-being for Orleans citizens.
Responsibilities
The Health Department is responsible for enforcing state and local public health regulations relating to food service establishments, septic systems, public and semi-public swimming pools, and minimum standards for housing. The department contracts with outside providers for public health nursing services. The Health Department is also responsible for assessing the community needs and developing appropriate programs and policies to address those needs.
