Fertilizer Home Rule Petition 2022
The Purpose of this Home Rule Petition is to protect the waters of Orleans by prohibiting the application of fertilizer except for the purposes of commercial agriculture and the residential use of organic fertilizer with low nitrogen and phosphorus for the use in growing fruits and vegetables that is allowable under the USDA National Organic Program organic standards (OMRI listed).

Pesticide Home Rule Petition 2023
The Orleans Select Board voted unanimously on February 1, 2023 to take action to protect the health and safety of our residents, children, pets, visitors, the environment, gardeners, landscapers, waters, wildlife, property values and the economy. Please join us supporting a Home Rule Petition: An Act of Prohibiting the Application of Pesticides in the Town of Orleans, which will be an article at the Fall 2023 Town Meeting in October.
