Governor Prence Redevelopment

The Town of Orleans and the Orleans Affordable Housing Trust (AHT) purchased the closed Governor Prence Motel in 2021 to investigate its possible use for municipal uses, including affordable housing. The Governor Prence Planning Committee was appointed by the Select Board and spent a year working with a consultant to analyze the site, undertake community engagement efforts, look at development options, and develop recommendations for re-use of the site. The report of the Planning Committee and the final consultant’s report were submitted to the Select Board and AHT Board in September 2022, and approved in November 2022.
